    Error:

When trying to send email from a JavaMail enabled application that has been deployed in WebSphere 6.1you get the follwing error:

Context:<host>Node01Cell/nodes/<host>Node01/servers/server1, name: <JNDIName>: First component in name <JNDIName> not found.

    Solution:

Use IBM WebSphere Administration Console often found at http://<host>:9090/ibm/console, but can be configured to be any port e.g https://awdes03:9043/ibm/console/login.do?action=secure

Navigate to the Mail section with the Resources section and set up a JNDI name to create default Mail Session properties. It can be possible that some WAS server can have standard set where it is up to the programmer to decide on the mail properties in the design of their classes. However configuring mail properties on the server is best for coprporate strategy.

click the Apply button and save the configuration to the master template.

You must restart the server whren you have configured new Mail Sessions.
