When testing a data source using the WebSphere administrative console, this type of message can be presented when testing a data source on a remote server where the firewall does not have the correct ports open

The test connection operation failed for data source jforum on server server1 at node T60Node02 with the following exception: java.sql.SQLException: Io exception: The Network Adapter could not establish the connectionDSRA0010E: SQL State = null, Error Code = 17,002. View JVM logs for further details.
