Should I use ws_ant or jython

    Quick Answer:

ws_ant is a wrapper to only some of the mbeans that provide WebSphere automation, but it is really a development tool and does not have access to the entire Jython command set that pure Jython does. It is a good tool for development servers/test server and good for simplistic application deployment using ANT syntax which developers are familiar with.

Jython as called by wsadmin.sh/bat can access the entire library of WAS configuration functions and is recommended for production. Jython can be used to deploy applications, and also change actual run-time configuration of WebSphere
