    No permission to perform operation checkout

    Error checking out "V:\test_view\test_vob\testfile.txt".
    No permission to perform operation "checkout".
    Must be one of: member of element group, element owner, VOB Owner, member of ClearCase group
    Unable to checkout "v:\test_view\testfile.txt".

    Lets try and find out what the issue is:

    We can see that the element does not have enough permission's. We need to adjust the VOB permission's.

    as root:

    [root@clearcase viewstore01]# /opt/rational/clearcase/bin/cleartool protectvob -add_group ccusr1 /vobstore01/test_vob.vbs
    This command affects the protection on your versioned object base.
    While this command is running, access to the VOB will be limited.
    If you have remote pools, you will have to run this command remotely.
    cleartool: Warning: "ccusr1" is already in the group list for this versioned object base.
    Pool "sdft" appears to be protected correctly.
    Pool "ddft" appears to be protected correctly.
    Pool "cdft" appears to be protected correctly.
    Protect versioned object base "/vobstore01/test_vob.vbs"? [no] yes
    Do you wish to protect the pools that appear not to need protection? [no]
    cleartool: Error: Group "ccusr1"(503) already added
    VOB ownership:
    owner vobadmin
    group dev
    Additional groups:
    group ccadm
    group ccusr1

    ========================================

    cleartool setview test_view

    cleartool protect -chown vobadmin -chgrp ccusr1 -chmod 775 -recurse /vobs/test_vob

    [vobadmin@clearcase ~]$ cleartool protect -chown vobadmin -chgrp ccusr1 -chmod 775 -recurse /vobs/test_vob
    Changed protection on "/vobs/test_vob".
    Changed protection on "/vobs/test_vob/lost+found".
    Changed protection on "/vobs/test_vob/testfile.txt".

    ==============================================

    Result is a fully working Windows RHEL Linux Interop.
