    Installing WebSphere 8 on Linux - Locating the downloads.

    I am using CentOs as my operating system as it is essentially RHEL5 without the branding

    Please refer to: http://www.webspheretools.com/sites/webspheretools.nsf/docs/WebSphere%208%20IIM%20install%20for%20Linux for instruction on how to install IIM a subsequent running of the IBM Installation Manager.







    click the link Repositories in the section reading: Repository connections: Packages are stored in repositories that you must connect to. Configure repository connections on the Repositories preference page. Verify that your repository credentials allow access to the repository.





    Click the "Add Repository" button




    click the "Browse" button to browse a local file-system based repository




    question you may have now is...where do I get the downloads for the repository?

    Well...

    When you go to IBM and click the download for the Websphere 8 Beta for Windows link, on step 3, you will be presented with a page that looks like this...



    There are 4 categories however the are not identified (possibly a bug)

    Note: each link will prompt for an agreement check box


    Link 1 takes you to a page that lists all the downloads ie 3 links for app server, 2 links for WebSphere DMZ Secure Proxy Server, 3 links for Network Deploymet, 3 for supplements like IBM HHP server etc, 1 for WebSphere Edge Components and 1 for the IIM.
