    How to apply WebSphere plugin fixpack for 6.0.1.0 on Windows

    Started with Plugin at 6.0.0.1

    -------------------------

    Used FTP to get the refresh for 6.0.1.0


    ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/software/websphere/appserv/support/fixpacks/was60/refreshpack1/Windows/

    upgrade with refresh pack to 6.0.1.0

    copy update installer from folder
    C:\Software\plugins_Fixpacks\6.0-WS-WASPlugIn-WinIA32-RP0000001into c:\6plugins\updateinstaller

    The following maintenance package requires an update to an installed JDK that is currently in use by this wizard:

    • C:\6Plugins\updateinstaller\maintenance\6.0-WS-WASPlugIn-WinIA32-RP0000001.pak
    In order to continue, it is necessary to copy the current JDK to a new location and relaunch the wizard using the copied JDK. The current JDK will be copied from the source location to the target location:
    • Source: C:\6Plugins\java\jre
    • Target: C:\6Plugins\updateinstaller\java

    After the copy has completed, this wizard will be relaunched and the update can proceed.

    Next to begin the copy.

    Update Installer Re-launched itself due to JDK update

    using: 6.0-WS-WASPlugIn-WinIA32-RP0000001.pak

    The following product will be upgraded:

    • Web server plug-ins for WebSphere Application Server - C:\6Plugins

    by installing the following maintenance package:
    • RP6010 - WebSphere Plugin 6.0.1.0

    Next to begin the installation.

    copy the C:\Software\plugins_Fixpacks\6.0-WS-WASPlugIn-WinX32-RP0000002\updateinstaller folder and copy to c:\61plugin\updateinstaller , you may find the upgrade installer wants to refresh java, that is fine all it is doing is copying the java folder form the c:\plugins folder so the installer which is written in Java can run with corret IBM jvm.

    Uising: 6.0-WS-WASPlugIn-WinX32-RP0000002.pak (defaulted in the maintence folder)

    The following product will be upgraded:

    • Web server plug-ins for WebSphere Application Server - C:\6Plugins

    by installing the following maintenance package:
    • RP6020 - WebSphere Plugin 6.0.2.0


    Click
    Next to begin the installation.

    Remember you may have to copy in the updateinstaller folder as supplied by the FP download e.g 6.0.2-WS-WASPlugIn-WinX32-FP00000015.zip into c:\6plugin each time to ensure the correct update installer is used for the appropriate FP.

    using: 6.0.2-WS-WASPlugIn-WinX32-FP00000015.pak

    by installing the following maintenance package:
    • FP60215 - WebSphere Plugin 6.0.2.15
