    Linux remote desktop using Free NX Server and NX client from "No Machine".

    Note: I am using CentOS 5.5

    yum groupinstall "GNOME Software Development"
    yum install freenx

    edit the file /etc/ssh/sshd_config and add the following two lines

    PasswordAuthentication yes
    AllowUsers nx root (or whatever user you want)

    Restart SSHD:

    /sbin/service sshd restart

    or

    service sshd restart

    Download and install the NX client from nomachine.com from http://www.nomachine.com/download-client-windows.php

    Add certs to NX client

    go to /etc/nxserver on your Linux server and open the file client.id_dsa.key and copy the key and paste into the key option of you NX client configuration





    The key button is located in the General tab of the NX client.






    start the service on the server...

    service freenx-server start

    Run NX client on Windows and connect with a GNOME profile
