    Error when trying to stop WebSphere server.

    Problem

    [wasadmin@websphere bin]$ ./stopServer.sh server1

    ADMU0116I: Tool information is being logged in file

    /apps/was7/profiles/appsrv01/logs/server1/stopServer.log

    ADMU0128I: Starting tool with the appsrv01 profile

    ADMU3100I: Reading configuration for server: server1

    X connection to localhost:10.0 broken (explicit kill or server shutdown).

    Solution

    Global security is now enabled!

    1. Either set PuTTY to use xforwarding, run an xserver and type in the username and password in the login dialog presented.

    2. Edit the <was_profile_root>/properties/soap.client.props file and add a username and password, thus you can stop and star without the username and password dialog.

    3. edit security.xml located in <was_profile_root>/config/cells/<cell_name>/ to turn of Global Security by editing value enabled="true" to enabled="false" as shown by the snippet of a was7 security.xml file.

    <security:Security xmi:version="2.0" xmlns:xmi="http://www.omg.org/XMI" xmlns:orb.securityprotocol="http://www.ibm.com/websphere/appserver/schemas/5.0/orb.securityprotocol.xmi" xmlns:security="http://www.ibm.com/websphere/appserver/schemas/5.0/security.xmi" xmi:id="Security_1" useLocalSecurityServer="true" useDomainQualifiedUserNames="false" enabled="false" cacheTimeout="600" issuePermissionWarning="true" activeProtocol="BOTH" enforceJava2Security="false" enforceFineGrainedJCASecurity="false" appEnabled="true" dynamicallyUpdateSSLConfig="true" allowBasicAuth="true" activeAuthMechanism="LTPA_1" activeUserRegistry="LocalOSUserRegistry" defaultSSLSettings="SSLConfig_node01_1" adminPreferredAuthMech="RSAToken_1">
