Error 404: com.ibm.ws.webcontainer.servlet.exception.NoTargetForURIException: No target servlet configured for uri: /

This error is caused when you have IBMHTTPServer using the WebSphere Plugin, however you have not got an actual plugin-cfg.xml because you have deleted WebSphere or not configured it properly. Comment the lines similar to the following in your IHS http.conf file.

#LoadModule was_ap22_module /var/apps/ihs7/Plugins/bin/mod_was_ap22_http.so
#WebSpherePluginConfig /var/apps/ihs7/Plugins/config/webserver1/plugin-cfg.xml
