Did not find JAVA_HOME under the WebSphere installer directory

When running the WebSphere Update Installer installation you get the following error:


Did not find JAVA_HOME under the WebSphere installer directory.
Exiting

The resolution is to ensure that you move the Update Installer to the root of the WebSphere binary installation software's folder, this way the update installer will find the IBM JDK that both the WebSphere installation wizard uses.
