How to delete a profile from a WebSphere 6 application server on Unix

    ./wasprofile.sh
The available modes are: create, augment, delete, unaugment, deleteAll, listProfiles, getName, getPath, validateRegistry, validateAndUpdateRegistry, help
For detailed help on each mode enter: -<mode> -help. For example, -create -help.
Command line arguments are case sensitive.

Before you begin a good tip is to run listProfiles command to ensure you are removing the correct profile.
    ./wasprofile.sh -listProfiles

    Step 1.

    Location of tool:

    <root>\<instance>\bin\wasprofile.sh

    syntax:

wasprofile.sh -delete -profileName <profile_name> (case sensitive commands)

    Step 2.

    Delete the folder e.g <root>\<instance>\profiles\<profile_name>

The reason this folder exists is to preserve logs as the tool will not remove your existing logs for the profile you are deleting.

    Step 3.

    wasprofile.sh -validateAndUpdateRegistry

This process validates the profile registry and lists the non-valid profiles that it purges.
